For several years now Topekans have come together for an evening of great food, amazing speakers, inspirational and thought-provoking videos, and mind-blowing discussion at TEDxTopeka. Our events have featured speakers from across the region speaking on a variety of timely and interesting topics as well as performing art pieces.

We are excited to announce that we will be holding TEDxTopeka 2017 on November 9 at the Topeka Civic Theatre and Academy. The event will run from 5-9 p.m., and will include a light supper. Tickets are on sale NOW over at our tickets page.

Check back often for speaker updates, news, ticket sale dates, and more!

What is TEDx?

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TED has created a program called TEDx. TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. Our event is called TEDxTopeka, where x = independently organized TED event. At our event, TEDTalks video and live speakers will combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events, including ours, are self-organized.

“This event is an opportunity for speakers from Topeka and the surrounding areas to share their ideas with the world,” said Nathan Morris, TEDxTopeka founder and organizing committee member. “There is so much talent in this community, and we want TEDxTopeka to help highlight the amazing things and people here.”

The independently produced event, operated under a license from TED, was organized by community volunteers and aims to start conversations, share ideas, and engage the community.
